Legal
These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of the MM Black Design website (mmblackdesign.com) and any purchase of fabrics, ready-to-wear pieces, accessories or bespoke custom tailoring services from MM Black Design ("we", "us", "our"), a Lagos, Nigeria-based fashion house. By accessing our website or placing an order, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use our website or services.
You must be at least 18 years old, or be placing an order with the involvement of a parent or legal guardian, to use our website and place an order. By placing an order, you confirm that the information you provide is accurate and complete.
We offer premium fabrics (including Ankara, Lace, Adire and Cashmere) sold by the yard, ready-to-wear fashion pieces, accessories, and bespoke custom tailoring services through our Style Catalog. Product images, colors and patterns are for illustration purposes — actual fabric color and pattern placement may vary slightly due to screen display settings or the natural characteristics of handcrafted textiles such as Adire.
Custom-tailored garments are made specifically to your chosen style, fabric and measurements. Production timelines will be communicated at the time of order and may vary depending on order volume, fabric availability and the complexity of the design. Because bespoke garments are made to order, they are not eligible for return for change of mind once production has commenced (see Section 9, Returns & Exchanges).
For custom orders, you are responsible for providing accurate measurements, either by entering them into your Measurement Vault or by booking a measurement visit with our team. We are not responsible for fit issues that result from inaccurate measurements provided by the customer. We recommend booking a measurement visit through our Book an Appointment page for the most accurate fit, especially for first-time orders or significant body changes since your last measurement.
All prices on our website are displayed in Nigerian Naira (₦) and are subject to change without prior notice. Prices for custom orders may vary based on fabric choice, style complexity and any tailoring add-ons selected. Full or partial payment may be required before production or delivery begins, as communicated at checkout or by our team. Payment must be made through the official payment channels provided on our website or directly by our team — we are not responsible for payments made to unofficial or unverified accounts.
We offer delivery within Lagos, nationwide shipping across Nigeria, and worldwide international shipping. Delivery timelines depend on your location, the items ordered, and whether your order includes custom tailoring. Delivery fees, where applicable, will be communicated before your order is finalized. Risk of loss or damage passes to you once an item has been delivered to the address you provided.
Measurement visits and styling consultations booked through our website are subject to availability and may require a booking fee, which varies by location. Please arrive at the agreed time; late arrival may result in a shortened session or the need to reschedule. We will do our best to accommodate rescheduling requests made with reasonable notice.
Orders for in-stock, ready-to-wear items may be cancelled before they are shipped, subject to any processing fees already incurred. Custom and bespoke orders may only be cancelled before production begins; once cutting or tailoring has started, the order can no longer be cancelled. Appointment cancellations should be made as early as possible — booking fees for missed appointments without notice may not be refundable.
Our full return and exchange terms are set out in our Return Policy, which forms part of these Terms.
If you create an account, you are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account, including any saved measurements in your Measurement Vault. Notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.

You may not reproduce, distribute, or use our content for commercial purposes without our prior written consent.
To the fullest extent permitted by Nigerian law, MM Black Design shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential damages arising from your use of our website or services, including but not limited to delays caused by third-party logistics partners, fabric availability, or events beyond our reasonable control.
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, including the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Act 2018, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Lagos State, Nigeria.
We may revise these Terms from time to time. Changes take effect once posted on this page, and continued use of our website or services after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. The "Last updated" date above reflects the most recent revision.
